Jo's Commute
After the rigours of the District and Piccadilly Line, followed by 10 mins dodging the London Lite sellers who leap into your path and refuse to let you pass, Balrog style, unless you relieve them of one of their comics (what’s wrong with Metro?), I am very appreciative of my new commute, which is a 20 minute walk up the river through the upmarket (you could say tacky) touristy restaurant and bar circuit, about 20 minutes walk into the CBD.
It’s a bizarre mix of modern Singapore, slightly plasticky ‘entertainment’ areas, old colonial architecture and a smattering of skyscrapers. All with a festive red and gold patina of Chinese new year decorations and orange trees, including some Chinese lanterns which are gratifyingly identical to the one we nicked from Matt’s lawyer do last December.
I took the camera along last Friday morning, and Andy came as well until he declared himself too hot (at 8.45am, and it’s still winter). Have a look here – Jo’s Commute – and see the photos from the journey, all the way up to our mini-office with the enormous map as we haven’t quite figured out where all the countries we operate in are yet.
